European Think Tanks Group (ETTG) will be present during this year’s European Development Days (EDDs) hybrid format for Global Gateway with the exhibition stand number C24-S under the Climate and energy theme on the Global Village – Brussels Expo and online.
We will present our collective publication on the future of the Africa-Europe relations. The publication draws on a series of closed-door expert seminars which involved more than 60 experts from Europe and Africa from different organisations and civil society representatives. The seminars were organised in cooperation with the Institute for Security Studies (ISS Africa) and UNDP Africa, and resulted into three policy reports on the following topics that were published in the run-up to the EU-AU summit:
- economic development and trade
- participatory and accountable governance, peace and security
- green transformation and climate change
The 3 reports resulted in a final ETTG collective volume which is addressing the status of the EU-AU relations, providing a series of policy recommendations to African and European decision makers. The volume took stock of the conclusions of the EU-AU summit and gave a reflection on how the partnership can be better equipped for a volatile world, with some initial reflections on the implications of the war in Ukraine for the AU-EU partnership.
The QR codes of our EDDs stand brochure will lead the audience directly to the policy recommendations of our reports, and will also update on the work of our member institutes on the war in Ukraine and how it will affect the AU-EU partnership and will shape the future of the cooperation.
