The 3rd ETTG Annual Dialogue on the EU and Global Development concluded after two productive days in Rome, Italy. Held in collaboration with member IAI – Istituto Affari Internazionali, the event brought together in Rome over 30 participants for stimulating discussions on the future of the EU’s global development partnerships.
A diverse group, including EU policymakers, representatives from member states, leading think tanks, and renowned experts, convened for this closed-door event. The program started with a welcome dinner hosted by the Spanish Ambassador in Rome, followed by a full day of discussions dedicated to exploring the complexities of the EU’s role in global development.
Discussions centered on navigating the multifaceted challenges facing the EU in a world marked by geopolitical tensions and climate change. Participants delved into critical issues such as internal EU dynamics, navigating competition on the world stage, and adapting to shifting narratives.
The ETTG is grateful to all participants for their honest and insightful dialogue. The valuable perspectives shared will be used to develop actionable outputs that contribute to strengthening the EU’s role in global development.
