Clare Castillejo

Clare Castillejo is a specialist in governance and rights in fragile states, with a particular interest in inclusive peacebuilding and statebuilding. She is currently a Research Associate with ODI’s Politics and Governance Programme, where her work focuses primarily on strengthening donor programming in relation to conflict, violence and peacebuilding. She is also an Associate Researcher with DIE, where she has undertaken research on EU migration policy.

Clare has more than 15 years experience in development research, policy and programming. She previously worked as a social development advisor with DFID, a human rights specialist with UNDP, and a researcher with Amnesty International, Fundación para las Relaciones Internacionales y el Diálogo Exterior (FRIDE) and the European Monitoring Centre on Racism. Clare’s main region of expertise is South Asia, although she also has experience in West Africa and the Sahel, Latin America and MENA.
