Niels Keijzer is a researcher based at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) in Bonn, where he is a member of the Institute’s research programme Inter- and transnational cooperation with the Global South.
He has over ten years of experience in development policy research, and his key areas of expertise include European development cooperation, external evaluations, ACP-EU relations, aid and development effectiveness, policy coherence for development, the 2030 agenda and financing for development. Niels Keijzer has been based at the DIE since 2013. Between 2005 and 2012 he worked at the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM), where his last position was deputy head of programme on EU external action.
A Dutch national, Niels has a teaching degree in Geography from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands, as well as a Master’s Degree in Development Studies and PhD in social sciences from the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
