Today we were happy to convene ETTG members for our 2nd Annual Retreat in Paris. Hosted by IDDRI, this internal retreat served as a forum for our network to exchange insights on the evolving work of think tanks and to identify strategic priorities for our joint research on global development.
This year’s discussions centered on two critical questions shaping the future of international cooperation:
- Aid Narratives in a Post-Aid World: We explored how to effectively communicate the purpose of development policy amidst shifting geopolitical and budgetary landscapes, drawing on recent findings from our members, Elcano Royal Institute and ODI.
- Beyond the 2030 Agenda: We examined what the next global development framework might look like as the SDGs near their target date, considering the EU’s potential role with inputs from IDOS – German Institute of Development and Sustainability and ECDPM.
The outcomes of these strategic sessions will help define the collective research agenda and priorities for the ETTG network moving forward.
